Integrated Systems Testing (CAN/ULC S1001) in BC and Alberta
CompliLogic Solutions provides complete CAN/ULC-S1001 Integrated Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems Testing services for new and existing buildings throughout BC and Alberta.
Integrated testing verifies that interconnected fire protection and life safety systems — including fire alarm systems, sprinkler monitoring, smoke control systems, stair pressurization, elevators, emergency power systems, electromagnetic locking systems, and carbon monoxide detection systems — operate together as intended during emergency conditions.
CAN/ULC-S1001 integrated testing is required under the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building By-law for applicable buildings prior to occupancy.
CompliLogic acts as the Integrated Testing Coordinator (ITC), providing a single point of coordination between owners, consultants, contractors, trades, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Our Integrated Testing services include:
-
Prior to initial building occupancy for applicable new construction
-
After modifications where interconnected fire protection and life safety systems are added, removed, or altered
-
At intervals required by CAN/ULC-S1001 for existing buildings
Integrated testing is required:
-
Review of drawings, commissioning reports, and verification certificates
-
Development of the integrated test protocol
-
Coordination of all consultants, contractors, and trades for Test Day
-
Full integrated systems test of all interconnected life safety systems
-
Preparation and submission of the final IST report to the AHJ
-
Coordination of 1-year and 5-year re-tests
Early involvement of the Integrated Testing Coordinator helps identify coordination issues before occupancy, reducing the risk of costly last-minute delays.
Contact CompliLogic early in your project schedule to ensure Test Day and Occupancy Permit timelines are not delayed.
